MISSALS.
The St. Joseph Sunday Missals which contain the changes in the Mass for the new year 2012 are available after all masses. You can also get them in the rectory during office hours. The cost is $4.50 each.
ENVELOPES.
Your contribution envelopes for the new year 2012 are available to be picked up after all the weekend masses. We have some boxes available for those who don’t have and would like to get one. You can also pick them up in the rectory during office hours.
OUR CONDOLENCES
to Olga López on the death of her father. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. May our Lord Jesus take them to the glory of his Kingdom and give Olga and her family comfort and peace.
AGUINALDO MASSES
are scheduled from Friday, December 16th at 5:45 a.m. until Saturday, December 24th. On Saturdays they will be at 7:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to come and share this Hispanic tradition of nine masses before Christmas. Because of the aguinaldo masses there will be no morning and evening weekday masses during those days.
OUR SECOND COLLECTION
next weekend December 17-18th will be for the electricity and maintenance of the church. We thank you very much for your support.
PENANCE SERVICE.
Next Sunday, December 18th we will have a Penitential Service starting after the 10:00 a.m. mass until 4:00 p.m. The Divine Mercy Devotion will be at 3:00 p.m. during confessions. Different priests will be available for confession, Fr. John will be from 12 to 1:00 p.m. Fr. Lynch from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Fr. Simon from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. and Fr. John from Holy Cross from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
KEYS AND SWORD AWARD BENEFIT.
The Third Annual Keys and Sword Award Benefit will be on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase (at $150.00 per person of which $90.00 is tax deductible). Ad packages are available upon request. Marriott Frenchman’s Reef Hotel reservations are available. Advent is a season of preparation. In Advent, we thank God for Christ’s first coming, prepare for his final coming at the end of time, and celebrate Christ’s presence among us today through the Spirit. God loved us and wanted to share that love. But this existence isn’t well-suited for a god; it’s too broken, evil, painful, unjust. So, to rescue the created world from this evil, God chose to come here and walk the earth, to grow up, to live the truth, and to die. The only way to start such a thing is as a baby, and the only way to be a baby is to be born. Hence Christmas. Because Christmas is centered in the new hope brought by a baby, it’s a very child-oriented holiday. Because Advent leads us up to that baby, Advent is also child-oriented.
There’s a time to get ready by focusing on your own sinfulness and wrongdoing, a time for personal transformation and following Christ to the cross. That’s Lent. There’s a time to get ready by rejoicing that our God is not far away and unfamiliar with the struggles of human life, that Christ is here right now among His followers, that God has already begun to bring in the Kingdom, and that Christ will come again to make it clear who really runs the place. That’s Advent. "Lord, I am with you, even unto the end of the age", says Jesus.

Nuestras tradicionales misas de aguinaldo comenzarán el próximo viernes 16 de diciembre a las 5:45 a.m. los sábados serán a las 7:30 a.m. Después de la misa tendremos nuestro acostumbrado desayuno. Todos están invitados a venir y participar de esta bella y bendita tradición.
SERVICIO DE PENITENCIA.
El próximo domingo 18 de diciembre, tendremos un servicio de penitencia comenzando después de la misa de las 10:00 a.m. hasta las 4:00 p.m. La Devoción a la Divina Misericordia será a las 3:00 p.m. durante las confesiones y finalizará con la bendición del Santísimo. Para la confesión tendremos diferentes sacerdotes: el P. John estará después de la misa hasta la 1:00 p.m. P. Lynch de 1:00 a 2:00 p.m. P. Simon 2:00 a 3:00 p.m. y P. John de Holy Cross de 3:00 a 4:00 p.m.

¿Cómo mantenernos despiertos y atentos? ¿Cómo permanecer vigilantes, decididos y sin perder de vista tu camino? ¿Hacia dónde mirar, Señor? ¿Dónde está el cielo nuevo? ¿Cuándo será el definitivo encuentro?
¡Adviento! ¡Cuánto agradecemos tu llegada! Pones en nuestros labios, la fuerza de la oración En el corazón, despiertas el querer de Dios. Derrama, en el fondo del alma, dones y gracias transformadoras. Coloca en nuestros ojos la luz que está por llegar y en los pies del caminante el deseo de avanzar por senderos de verdad o en nuestras manos, la esperanza de abrazar al Dios que viene.
No sabemos cuando será el momento.
Pero desde ahora te decimos, Señor, que permaneceremos despiertos y anhelantes que, no habrá destello humano, que mitigue el resplandor de tu llegada que, lejos de volver el rostro hacia otro lado, marcharemos hacia adelante sabiendo que, en el horizonte en el que confiamos
aguardan respuestas y amor que salen a nuestro encuentro esperan misterios de un Dios que se humilla amanece un tiempo nuevo para la humanidad brotan esperanzas e ilusiones para una realidad turbulenta, fracasada y desconcertada para una humanidad fría y sin expectación.
¡Ven, Señor! ¡No sabemos cuándo será el momento! Pero, porque lo esperamos, seremos fieles hasta el final.
¡ADVIENTO! ¡CUÁNTO Y BUENO NOS ENSEÑA TU CAMINO!
¡SEAS BIENVENIDO!
